1600 – 1730 Trusts v foundations

Why do some families prefer to use trusts and others choose to have foundations? This comparative panel will review the pros and cons of US, English and Indian trusts and Austrian, Belgium and Jersey foundations.

Experts from various jurisdictions will reveal whether residents of their countries prefer to use local or foreign trusts/foundations, and will explain the reasoning behind their choices. Speakers will also consider whether local wealth management vehicles are attractive solutions for foreign families. Finally, this panel will discuss the effect of the increased scrutiny from tax authorities all over the world on trusts and foundations.
