Gauthier Vandenbossche is a Scientific Adviser in Tiberghien’s HR Tax Team. He focuses in particular on tax measures for employers, with an emphasis on wage withholding tax exemptions for research and development and for shift and night work, as well as on the tax treatment of copyright remuneration.

Gauthier advises clients on the conditions for applying these regimes and on the legal and tax risks associated with existing or contemplated applications. He assists companies with their implementation and with building robust documentation and supporting evidence. He also supports clients in the context of tax audits and contributes to ruling requests and tax litigation.

As part of his know-how role, Gauthier closely monitors new legislation, case law and administrative positions. He translates these developments into practical guidance and contributes to knowledge building within the firm through publications, training sessions and both internal and external knowledge sharing.

Alongside his work at Tiberghien, Gauthier is a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University. He obtained funding for a VLAIO Innovation Mandate carried out in collaboration with Tiberghien. Within this research project, he examines how employers can apply the wage withholding tax exemptions for research and development and for shift and night work more accurately and proactively.

He is also active in the fields of corporate and insolvency law, with research focusing, among other topics, on debt discharge, no-asset estates and collective debt settlement. He regularly publishes in his areas of expertise and speaks at seminars and conferences.

In 2026, Gauthier obtained a PhD in Business Economics and Law from Ghent University. His doctoral research combines legal and empirical methods to study Belgian insolvency law.
