Ana Laura obtained her Master's degree in Law (research master's degree) at KU Leuven in 2018 with great distinction. After her studies, she started working as a researcher at KU Leuven and the Université de Liège, on the one hand on an international project on tobacco smuggling and on the other hand on a project regarding the implementation of the European Public Prosecutor's Office in the Belgian legal order. Afterwards, she remained active as a researcher at KU Leuven, where she investigated various problems of customs and criminal procedural law.
As a member of the Litigation team, she advises and assists (international) clients in the field of financial, economic and tax criminal law. Ana Laura has particular expertise in the field of customs law and tax law criminal proceedings.
In addition, Ana Laura works as a voluntary researcher under Professor C. Van De Heyning at the University of Antwerp in the field of criminal law, criminal procedure, and fundamental rights.
